Need help? Here I tell you about some tools for writers.

I normally dislike shopping but something about buying on the Internet makes the whole procedure easier and far more fun for me. That’s why I currently have an Albatross hanging around my neck. Well, actually, I have six of them…

An albatross is a bookmark. But it’s as similar as regular bookmarks as a pen and notebook are to a laptop computer. Created by Oscar Lhermitte, a French product designer living in London, the Albatorss has slightly sticky ends that you attach to the front and back of your book. The middle section automatically folds into the spot where you close your book.

I know, I know. This is hard to picture. If you can’t understand it from the photo, above, check out a video that might it more clear (video is in the top right-hand corner of the linked page). People often wonder if the bookmarks can be used more than once. The short answer is yes but I haven’t had them long enough to know how long they’ll remain suitably sticky at the edges. Me? I prefer to read on my Kindle whenever possible.

But if you’re a reader of conventional books — or if you’re looking for a gift for someone who is — I think you might like an Albatross around your neck as well! Or, at the very least, on your bedside table… You can order them here. I’m not an affiliate so I receive no recompense should you decide to buy them.
