Consent and Release

In the course and workshops offered by Gray-Grant Communications Inc. (“us” or “GG”), participants may choose to have their video enabled.  We want you to understand that those sessions are also sometimes recorded and used for the instruction of others. Even when they are not recorded by us, other participants see and may record what is said.

  1. By participating in the course, you understand that your voice will be heard by others and may be recorded, whether by other participants or Gray Grant Communications Inc. If GG records your voice, you consent and give Gray-Grant Communications Inc. the right to use that recording.
  2. You have the option whether to give Gray-Grant Communications Inc. permission to use your image and your name. If you prefer not to have your image recorded, it is your responsibility to turn off your video. If you prefer not to have your actual name used, you are free to rename yourself on Zoom (or whatever recording software is being used) using a different name.  Users will only see what you have chosen to display as your name.
  3. If you enable your video, you give Gray-Grant Communications Inc. consent and grant us the right to your record both your voice and your image and to use that recording.
  4. We are not required to use a recording. If we do use the recording, you give us the right to digitize, edit, adapt, broadcast, reproduce, license or otherwise use, and permit others to use, the recording. You authorize us to stream the recording on the internet and permit the recording to be downloaded as part of the instruction we provide, and to identify you by the  name you have displayed on your Zoom (or other) connection. You give up any copyright interest in the recording.
  5. You agree that GG owns the voice recording and you waive any property or moral rights in voice recording. If you enable your video, you agree that GG owns the video recording, and you waive any property or moral rights in the video recording.
  6. You understand that GG is relying on this Agreement in its use of the recording.
  7. You are of the age of majority and are legally able to consent to the use of the recording.
  8. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada. Any claim arising under or relating to this Agreement shall be brought only in the courts of the province of British Columbia in the city of Vancouver. You consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the BC courts in Vancouver.
